I'm in the market for a new HDTV/Monitor. Has to be 1080p have HDMI and be good for video editing and graphic design.

I've looked at the samsung toc line. The 26" with the HDTV tuner sounded good but when I saw it at best buy the colors were all washed out.

I saw a gateway 24" w/ 92% gamut that looked really nice, but reading online it got a lot of bad reviews.

I was suggested to look into dells, they sound like they may be good for what I want (though i really want to watch cable on this and it has no tv tuner) but i've heard dell customer support sucks.

Does anyone out there have experience with any new LCD monitors out? I'm trying to spend up to $500 but less if possible. Definitely must play blu-rays and be compatible with xbox 360

At best buy / tigerdirect I've noticed the brands like Acer / Westsomething etc. have crazy over=saturation so that when standing next to a Samsung they look a lot better. Take your time and look at the gradients in each one etc. to notice which one is best, because Samsung is generally top dog.

There are 3 classes of LCD displays, which correspond to their level of quality. From low to high: TN, PVA/MVA and (H)-IPS. If you want a monitor that's good for video editing and graphics design, you owe it to yourself to get an IPS-monitor. They're expensive, but in terms of color accuracy they're simply the best money can buy. If IPS-monitors are a little out of your price range (the NEC MultiSync 2490WUXi goes for about $1k), PVA/MVA monitors are your second best shot. Don't even think about getting a TN for video editing or graphic design.

Also, read through HardForum's Displays forum (http://www.hardforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=78); a great place to do monitor research.

Hello everybody, I got to GeForce 8600GT(1 GB) and an old CRT monitor, I want to know if I change the monitor to an LCD one, the quality of games getting better? If you have any opinion on "Samsung GW1932+" monitor I would like to know that. Is it really make a difference in quality of a game if you have a LCD monitor? Thank you so much in advance and have a good day.

depends what kind of LCD you get and what the specs of the CRT are. I imagine the crt is probably a bit dated so any decent LCD you buy will make the games look better, if you want them to look really good get something that supports HD (1080i/p). Getting an HD screen will greatly change the look of the game
