ANYONE watch Reality TV??

Oh man.. no one watches this show called 'The Restaurant'?
You know.. with the chef Rocco? He was loaned 4 million dollars to make a restaurant and live his dream running into all these problems.. I recommend watching it, made by Matt Burnard (spelling?), the person who made the first Survivor. :thumb: check it out

and extremely "Unreal"

no one opens a restaurant in weeks... it takes at least 8 months in this town, if you have a City Supervisor in your pocket (I've opened 2)... Inspections alone take weeks.

If you get a chance, watch "Chef!" . It is a comedy from Britain, but it is much more online to what happens in a upscale kitchen.

I can't stand reality shows and "making a celebrity" kind of shows.

the real reality shows are the ones about real people and real situations in society.

I think reality television is stupid. You can't make a 30 minute show by piecing together clips from a days worth of footage and say it's reality. The producers piece it together to make it interesting. Not to mention that people act differently on camera, and when people don't act crazy and funny, their shows are cancelled and they make no money.

It is so pointless and not real at all.
Real world for instance. Let's get 7 highly attractive males and females and put them in a town with a great job and tons of money and make them famous. Just like all us normal people.

I can't stand "reality" tv and if I was the president (don't worry, I'm working on it) I'd ban it.

reality TV was popularized in Britain. It became popular with the BBC because they didn't have to pay writers, actors, etc. for prime time shows. In fact, they have "mocumentaries" like The Office which mimics the reality TV show with comedic actors.

I compare this trend to the death of Art Deco in the 50's with the advent of the steel and glass skyscrapers.

I actually hate TV. I don't have cable because the only channel I really watched was Cartoon Network...

Ya, I didn't even watch the first survivor. Like I said, the only reality show I watch is american idol (because canadian Idol sucks) because the losers get made fun of. Which is hilarious.

I might say I hate reality tv as well, but only because I watch too **** much of it.

My brother's wife just had a baby so she's been watching a lot of TV and everytime I stop by I get sucked into some reality show.

The only reality TV I watched was Joe Millionaire. Most of the time I spend watching the real reality stuff such as news, animal planet, discovery channel, food network (emeril!!), and national geographic :ub:
