I made it from scratch, using only vector graphics. I am not stealing it. I didn't just steal the graphics, change "2A" to "Supree," and claim it is mine.

The difference between 2A and you is that they can gain clients with their design, it is harder to get clients when you have a copied crappy version of a really good site. 2A isn't just tweens, their usability and everything runs smooth, everything works in current with each other!

They are just tweening it with a high framerate.

You can't do shape tweens with AS, that I know of anyways.

You can only do motion type tweens with Actionscript.

2A uses hand made motion tweens for most of their work.

I don't think 2A is the best or close to it. I think they are good business men that know how to also make stunning sites. It is their professionality of their work that makes them better. I like many other sites much more, including Billy Bussey, Fantasy Interfaces, Gmunk and many others!

Kit is right. Technicly there isn't anythign advanced about 2A's old site at al. It is still very impressive thoguh to be on of the first ones to make a site like this. One that is so widly compyed and ripped.

I have to agree with Kit as well, 2A is nothing but tweens and now that I know flash and AS I can see right through their site, but it is the way they implement them that is great. I still don't think 2A is the best though, they are one of the best, but not the best.

Well you have to remember this version has been out for a long time, remember the first time it was released, I sure as hell do. It was a break in the media evolution of web development. They brought forth an erruption of inspiration. You cannot just say "Now that I know how they did it, their work isn't hard". You have to remember they did this version many years ago and without Flash MX.

My opinion is that they will break the barrier again to evolve the way you view sites on the internet. No doubt in the world that they will inspire our senses again. I think it is disrespect to say that their years old work is easy and can be done by many. I think you should be proud of them and let them inspire instead of point out their flaws and the things that they do, sure others can mimick or even make better, but they were one of the first and they sure do it well. I sure as hell wouldn't want to get back stabbed like that from fans that I inspired years back and then they start thinking of me as mediocre.

Just my opinion on the subject, I really don't care if anyone disagrees.

Good point and all but "years" old is ridiclous in my opinion. I redo my sites every 2 yrs @ most and that is for my huge! e-commerce sites that have thousands of pages. For a site like that they should be mixing it up every 6 months or so.

Besides... when you are a busy web design company you usually dont have time to udate your site every other month anyway. It's always the way. Most people take it as a good sign when your too busy to do your own site :)

most design houses don't have killer sites of their own. It just takes way too many resources that you could be making money off of, instead of paying them to make your own site.

At their stage of fame, their own site doesn't get them business, rather the designs of other's sites gets them the business. Their site is more of an ego based thing, than a business getting device.

i got an error at first too...then i actually saw the page

not too shabby...it was too wide to fit onto my 1024x768 screen (which is really annoying)...i guess they're trying to make a statement about the screen resolution debate???

i got ticked off after awhile and left b/c nothing was loading (too much traffic) once i got on the page. i don't particularly like the color scheme. it might grow on me though.

What it means to me is that "a website is a website is a website" - even if it's good ;)

Part of me was hoping for some crazy new paradigm on how to surf a website; someone actually breaking the "panel/column" concept that we've had since Yahoo! launched all those years ago. People have tried, but no one's done it successfully.

As bright as these blokes seem to be, my desire was that they may have solved the problem. I'm excited about the transitions, however, and can't wait to finally see them :D

The animations are nice, but nothing that hasn't been seen before - done by both them and others. I've actually come across two websites today which had transitions I felt were significantly stronger, though the designs themselves weren't nearly as good.

The little "faux buttons" beside the panel titles are annoying in their misleading nature.
