dynamically adding subdomains in Plesk

anyone have any familiarity with or can provide direction on how to add subdomains dynamically on a dedicated server running Plesk?

i know i need wildcards in my DNS entries (*.domain.com), but is it possible to have a PHP or CRON script execute to generate the subdomain based on the users entry?
