View Full Version : IMPOSSIBLE Font listing in the Type Palette

Hello.
I have a problem I really can't get rid of it.

At our company we developed most Flash applications on Macs.
Now (...) they decided to move most of the design on PC computers.

The problem is that on Windows machine most of the used fonts are 'invisible' in the 'font list' palette.
I explain better.
We open the FLA file in Windows (mac and win are using Flash CS3) and Flash warns us that a series of Myriad Pro fonts are missing.
We copied the Myriad Pro fonts form the mac to the win machines...
Indeed if we open Photoshop (in win) we can access the various Myriad Pro fonts (selecting first the Myriad Pro family and the on the adjacent field selecting the desired typeface). So the fonts are correctly installed and accessible by the system and the software.
In Flash the font list palette has only one field.
On the macs we can list the various versions/typefaces of the same family as separate entires... but on win we only have one voice called 'Myriad pro'.

Do you have a solution for this?

Another problem, always with fonts:
there's a dynamic text field that, based on Actionscript, has to display some stars (Webdings symbols). Under mac this is not a problem as we simply embedded the star symbol using the 'Embed...' button. In win, when doing the same, the stars appear only if we set the field as static: the star symbol doesnt display (it shows a rectangle) neither on the 'Embed...' window neither at runtime when testing the SWF. How can we embed such a symbol? Or better... why under windows we can't embed it the same way we do it on mac?
(of course we have the Webdings font installed correctly, as it's proven by the fact that if we set the field to static and paste some star symbols it displays correctly).

I HATE WINDOWS.
Im a mac, and you're a pc.

Thanks,
MJ
