I don't own a console, but my friend just rented this game for PS3, and I've been pretty much living at his house playing it.

The main difference between this and other "hack and slash" style games is the minions. You get these little impish fellows (called minions) that follow you around and help you fight, as well as other little things like fetching items, putting out fires, turning levers, and other things minions are handy for. They love you so much, and they will do anything for you. It's heartwarming. There are four different kinds, each with their own special strengths and abilities. You can only get a maximum of five of them at first, but that cap is raised as you progress (I'm at 30 right now) They do a good job of incorporating the different minions into really interesting combat, and some minimal puzzle-solving.

The story is pretty ignorable, the voice acting is corny, and the graphics are good but not amazing, so there's not really one big thing that stands out about it... It's just really, really fun.
