Just wondering does an ADSL modem plug into where a 56k modem plugs into or do you have to set it up differently for ADSL? Also an ISP says installation of a satellite dish is required. What would that be for? I don't know anything about it :sigh: :q:
Thanks people!

are you talking about your phone outlet? yes. there is a connection that goes from your DSL modem to the wall phone socket (outlet, whatever) that is different from the ethernet that goes to your computer.

I don't really know what I'm talking about! Someone asked me about ADSL and I'm trying to find out some more information about it. Does the cable that goes from the modem to the computer plug into where a 56k modem would plug into or do you need to set it up differently?

if you have DSL you must have a network adapter, or an ethernet card. This is where the ethernet cable from the modem would go. it looks like a larger phone line end.

Ok thanks. Any ideas about the dish that needs to be installed?
