Okay, let me start out by saying I am not an avid gamer. So keep that in mind as you read this quick mini-review.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is tons of fun on the Wii. From what I understand, the graphics aren't as fab as on, say, the PSP or whatever. But the main draw is using the Wiimote as your lightsaber to slice up all your enemies. Swing it left, right, up, down, and thrust - the character onscreen responds in kind. You even have the ability to toss your lightsaber at ranged opponents. You use the nunchuk attachment to control your Force powers- using the Force to shoot lightning, pick up objects and enemies, and toss 'em all over the place. Plus, with certain button combos, you can build up a Force charge that blasts everything around you.

The story is that you play as Darth Vader's secret apprentice, assigned to hunt down rogue Jedi who escaped Order 66. So basically you go into different levels and chop everything up. I've only gotten through one level, but had so much fun it was hard to stop.

The other attraction to SW:TFU is the duel mode. You choose from a variety of Star Wars characters (some who you unlock through game play) and battle it out with your friends - or, in this case, my kids. As was fitting, for one duel my son chose Luke Skywalker, so I picked Vader. Yes, I beat his Jedi-*** all over the Bespin arena.

As I said, I'm sure hardcore gamers will find nits to pick with this game. But for a sometime gamer, and longtime Star Wars fan, I've been having a blast.:vader:

I want to play this, heard its great. I almost got to see it last night, but was force to write a philosophy paper instead.

I'll wait for the PC version so I can see all the physics and explosions (I dislike this whole lets wait a month or more to give it to PC users).

"Forced" to write a philosophy paper?

The Wii version doesn't have the "dynamic molecular modeling" like the Xbox/PSP versions. But it does have the Wiimote lightsaber thing. End of the month, some third party types will release lightsaber attachments into which you slide your Wiimote. With LEDs in the blades, it'll be like you're really swinging a lightsaber around. I'm so geeked to get one.

 that's why there are like three splash screens when you boot up the Wii that tell you to USE THE FREAKIN' STRAP, YOU MORON!! :)

My brother got this last Friday, had it beat by Monday :P

Good game though. The lightsaber and force powers combined with the wiimote/nunchuk work really well. The duel mode is also alot of fun.

As a quick side mini rant: Has anyone else noticed how over-powered defense seems to be in a duel? When my friend and I played, 80% of the duel was spent defending. Though we did find that you could throw stuff at an opponent to break their defense.

Anyway, overall a great game. Makes great use of the Wii's unique hardware and is alot of fun. :D

Nope - because I devolve into a button-masher. Pissed off my son, I can tell you, because I won with that lack of technique.

Looks like monkey-fun. The sword swingin' action is what made Zelda: Twighlight Princess so awesome.

Oh you talking bout this (http://kotaku.com/5056094/thrustmaster-get-wii-lightsaber-peripherals-right)

Yeah the game is quite entertaining I started playing it on my X360 though not on Wii and the euphoria engine for the physics is quite nice but the enemies AI is like terrible in some instances they just stand there, but its a fun hack and slasher.

Yup, grimdeath, talkin' bout those. :) And I can use a dumb AI, 'cuz I'm an idiot. Played some yesterday, and found, that if I had an enemy behind my character on screen, I started swinging the Wiimote over my shoulder, like the guy was actually standing behind me.
