Check it out here: www.flashkdd.co.cc (http://www.flashkdd.co.cc/)

What do you think? Course, there's lots of things I have yet to add :whistle: but hopefully they'll come eventually.

EDIT: If possible, please leave a comment. I need to test the comment system.

Just answer me one question. Is this the final product or in development?

I actually like the content border; if it line up. The spacing, alignment, type and all that good stuff needs a lot of work, though.

Any specific pointers? :)

What country is .cc?

It feels very plain right now, I think your need to work on the design a little more. Gets the job done though.

Sooo....you're saying:

More GFX? (Design)

Co.cc? not mine.

Doesn't have to be more actual graphics, just more to it, right now its a shadowed box with a very bleh background. There isn't really much to it for the most part.

You could also integrate that comment system a little better.

Actually I didn't make the comment system, the blog is hosted on blogspot. I just hacked the css to remove the navbar.

What font are you using? Arial? First mistake. It needs padding between the header image and the start of the content block. The subtitle should be smaller than the title. And they both should be jazzed up and probably incorporated with the image, You also need a colour scheme. For starters.

The hell's wrong with arial?

Yeah. I chose Arial because most computers have it.

Hmmm the site is rather disappointing. There's really no aesthetic appeal whatsoever, it's quite literally a white box on a background... a drab background at that. Makes me feel as if I'm in kindergarten all the sudden with that background combined with the build a word blocks in the center.

it's the bastard love child of Helvetica and Microsoft

Yeah. I chose Arial because most computers have it.Most computers have it, correct. But you should start of w/ another font and then cascade down to Arial.

Arial was designed for Monotype, not Microsoft, M$ just adopted it for windows 3.1 rather than Helvetica.

Arial is a superb font for the web because of it's ubiquity and cross platform look and feel/consistency in my humble opinion. That comment is nonsense IMO.

^Arial is a nice font, what simp was saying and I agree: it shouldn't be the first font in your font family
font-family:[...],[...],Arial,sans-serif;

Well both Helvetica and Arial are print fonts, not screen fonts. And Helvetica is the de facto standard for print. Arial is fine for body copy, for the most part, as it's consistent in terms of it's ubiquity. Things like the R (the "famous" comparison test), a, t, G, c, C as well as the kerning all come out looking a little sloppy when Arial is used as header copy.

As a rule of thumb in design, they even teach this in design schools. It's suggested to use Helvetica if you have the choice, and Arial if you don't.

Both come out pretty crappy as web fonts, but that's why you can cascade down to it, so you can get the most "correct" version of the original sans-serif'd font:

font-family: "Helvetica", Arial, sans-serif;

If you have Helvetica on your system you MAY see the differences (most people can't especially since you can't see the kerning differences on the web), and if you don't have it it'll just default to Arial and no one will be the wiser.

Trebuchet MS is my favorite font I tend to use it as the first font on a lot of the applications I develop for work and that is a web safe font also.

Most often I'll do "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif. Helvetica Neue is an absolutely beautiful font, I'll never get tired of it. But if you really want to go for full compatibility with a still fairly nice-looking font, Trebuchet MS is very good option.

Unfortunately hardly anyone will have helvetica-neue installed. I agree though, it is a lovely font. I like chaparral pro myself, but i know noone will have that either so i don't bother using it. Embedding it in flex/flash though? Yes please.

^ I'm pretty sure Helvetica Neue is included in OSX. ;)
