IRC chat

I don't know if any of you noticed, but I put up an IRC channel. Here are the details:

Now I need your opinion. Is this a good idea? You'd rather post than chat? Whatever? Let me know so I can either keep it up or take it down.

The DAL net IRC servers that you would use are... irc.eu.dal.net Connect to that server, and join #kirupaforum

and btw.. that irc address wasn't workin so I downloaded the one from there and it still ain't working... note is was the same prog I was using before!

I'm using IRCle (MAC client) and I need a better server address as well...

shouldn't matter which IRC app you use but the right server address is nec. if it is not in the "servers" default list

hm...syko. you're not the first to have this problem. Have you tried connecting to another DALnet server?

Make sure you have a local identd server running... DAL net requires one...

the port is fine (6667). you need to try connecting to several different servers (not Random). It took me 3 server hops to get on.

DALnet is a popular server, so it's no doubt that you won't be able to connect at times.

ok this is what im doing:

I cannot connect to a Random EU DAL server so im choosing a random one, i know this is the problem because im int he ArabChat channel (lol) so can someone give me the address that they used to connect? (not the random one)

if you don't read the whole thing you're not gonna get in. it's surprisingly complicated and you'll eventually go through the entire thing to find anything you missed. the link for the program should be one of the first lines in the Announcement

yes you can use irc even after the 30 days itll jsut keep annoying you till you register it but it is the best irc client out there imho

dan-try checking the user id from email box in the identd setings. that's what made it work for me.
