signs that i am on the computer working or playing video games way too much for my own good:

1.(taken from a discussion on IM earlier)
sometimes i try to "control z" real life, like if i say something that i wanna take back ill do control z with my left hand even though there is no keyboard
kinda like air guitar
except nerdy

2. sometimes i say "LOL" or other abbreviations instead of laughing or saying whatnot

3. sometimes if i am playing guitar i will do "control s" after a particularly cool jam, sort of like the "control z" thingie only a little up and to the right.

4. when getting out of my Jeep, sometimes i will grab the 4wd shifter like a mouse and try to move it towards the start menu to "turn off"

5. sometimes when i am fishing and i catch a big fish, i check in the bottom of my vision area to see how many experience points i racked up

6. sometimes, (ok, not very often, but a few times) after a night of partying, i reassure my friends by telling them i will call them when i get 127.0.0.1

For awhile it was a craze to say computer slang out-loud. I wanted to body slam every little punk *** CS weirdo that did that crap. The people around here are REALLY annoying and think it is funny to say the same stuff for like 3yrs.

Just remember red, that if you change your registry, you may not work after that. :)

I know I'd be pissed if I found out I couldn't boot.

BOB wasn't an OS. It was a shell ran over Windows to help the really dumb users. Like for example, if you held a magnet near your monitor, your monitor would pop up an alert saying "Red back the magnet away from your screen, what are you a nimrod?"

hehe jk jk red ;) :P:

TheOrangeOne
August 5th, 2003, 10:46 AM
bob looked cool (for kids), but has anyone noticed the Quake2 icon on the pic?

heh, nimrod :thumb:

calling Red a Nimrod means either she is a hunter or she is a person regarded as silly, foolish, or stupid

....I'm guessing it was the last one

you know what i miss? on like apples from the early - mid 80s there was this little game, i forget what it was called. it was a little bunny that went through a maze. if he bumped his head he would make a mad face and tap his foot and stuff, and i thought this was so hysterical that i would go into bouts of uncontrollable laughter..
it was the one time i peed myself.. heheh
(i was like 2 or 3)

I remember this old school version of Backyard Soccer where if you answer the question right, the pass is good, then if you answer like 20 in a row, you get a really hard question, and if you answer that one right, you score. Funest game ever!

does your answer machine say "Aloha?"

do you say "Mahalo" instead of thank you?

do you consider yourself "Kamaaina?"

then you too could be a flatnose!

j/k :beam:

If you read over all of my posts, you will notice the lack of "lol"'s and other abbriviations. You will also notice the lack of smilies. Personally, I hate these internet abbriviations. I want to brutally injure the person who came up with them. D4mn I hate pop culture.

I don't hate emoticons, I just don't like to use them. They are fun to draw though.

But as for nerdy things:
-When ever I sit down, my hands automatically go into "Rogue Spear" positon, where one hand is one the (non-existant) mouse, and my other hand over the (also non-existant) W,A,S,and D keys, which are the movement controls.

-When I see I picture or effect, I wonder "How can I do that in photoshop"

-When I see a TV commercial (hell, anything moving on a screen) my first reaction is "how can I do that in flash?"

- I used to have dreams that start in visual baisc code when I used to program in vB.

- Now some of my dreams are at least 80% AS.

- I have looked for the "print" button in an art gallery.

- I find my self saying things and then wishing for the undo button.

- I went sking once and got back up after falling without taking my skis off. I went down again and drew a "redo" button in the snow.

- I've had conversations with freinds entirely in program code

- Me and one of my friends figured out how to program a break-dancer. (In visualBasic code sytax)

Ya, Im a geek.

the worst is when I bought a new t-shirt, and 10 minutes later re-created the design on the front of it.
