Unwanted glow on text

I'm having a problem with an unwanted green glow around some dynamic text and can't figure out how to get rid of it. The font is Futura (I've tried different versions), size is 12, and I've tried anti-aliasing for readability and for animation, with no luck. Screen shot is attached. Any ideas?

Have you applied a glow filter? In the Text Properties window, click on the Filters tab and check for a tick against Glow. If so, you can either remove it permanently by highlighting the Glow filter and clicking the - button (Remove Filter), or temporarily disable it by clicking on the tick mark.
