Hey guys,

I would love to learn how to create this effect. I know Terragen™ is good to create the landscapes, but can you animate in that program?

This is the effect:

Similar to what www.advanceflash.com does.

Anyone have any ideas on the best way to achieve this?

Thanks :)

They use After Effects and the trapcode and DA plugins to make those. It is actually really easy to do your own.

Of course you have to won AE to do this. Other option is like real flow or Vue, but looping would be a issue (I have tried)

Well actually if you look on that youtube video he states that he used Terragen and Teranim to make it. I guess teranim is an animation program or plugin that works with terragen. Can't help any more than that because i haven't used either :)

After Effects could also do some nice water effects, or a 3D program is the next step up I reckon.

didnt look at the youtube. But familiar with aF and how they made their water loops. Terragen is old school wonder how far that program has come.

Wow terragen has come quite a ways. I remember when it was fighting with Vue. But Vue has seriously leaped past it. But for free you cant beat terragen

Reminds me of Bryce 3d somehow - used to leave the G3 rendering for days only to find I stuffed something up.
