how do you make objects appear on a certain frame in 3d studio max?

you mean you want something to pop up and appear. I just duplicate the thing. MAke some key frames. Delete the ogject from the first frames and keep it in the last frames.

Sorry if i dont make sense :).

i thought when delete/hide objects it deletes it on all frames?

There ain't an easier thing!

I'm using 3ds max 5 so you might find some differences for earlier versions!

Just make a keyframe in some frame, right click on the object and select properties! Then change "Visibility" to "0" and voila! Now (in 3ds5 at least) you can see the object slowly disappearing like _alpha-- !

Right click on the keyframe and select <i>object1</i>: Visibilty and change the "IN" line-thingy to the rough corners like a stair or sth! And now the object is and in the next keyframe it isn't! :)
