my mom gave me a plant on a magnet while i was working today, so like a jackazz, i held it up to stuff to see what was magnetic. like an even bigger jackazz i held it up to my monitor.
now i have a stupid purple blotch on my screen.
anyone know how to heal the booboo?

opne time we bought these extremely stong magnets that actually had handles! and I left one touching the screen.. this was a long time ago and im weird.. nothing happened, it turned out fine after time

yeah, degauss it

and if you have no idea what that is, turn it off and back on again. Most (if not all) monitors degauss when turned on

Only if you turn it on quick enough. Leave it on for like, 20min, then turn it off and on real quick, it'll spazz out for a few seconds, but I'm not sure if that'll fix the problem.

Hard drive magnets can really screw up a monitor. If degauss doesn't fix it then you can (carefully) use the magnet and stick it behind the monitor and stuff to move around the gases back to where they belong.
