hey guys, i seem to have stumbled upon some money :) and since i've been planning to buy a tablet for my computer i figured now would be the best time.

i've decided to go with one made by wacom since that seems to be the dominant maker for tablets. i have about 150$ so im wondering if i should go with the wacom graphire2 (http://www.wacom.com/graphire/index.cfm) ($99.99) or the intuos2 4x5 (http://www.wacom.com/productinfo/4x5.cfm) ($199.99)?

if anyone out there has had any experience using either one, how much of a difference there is between the two. also keeping in mind that this would be my first tablet, and first time using one.

thanks alot guys.

i bought a cheap and nasty tablet, just to see what the fuss was about. They are actually really good! Im pleased with mine and am getting good use out of it, despite it being cheap. Im gonna get a wacom when i can afford it.

As for your question, i dont know the difference between the two, but my advise is always go for the most expensive one you can afford. (especially if you are going to get good use out of it)

I've got a Graphire2 and I love it to bits. :) Go for it, it does everything that I could ever ask of it. :)

hey, just read about the graphire2! It seems to have the pretty much the same features as my cheap tablet: http://www.aiptek.com/products/pctablets/6000u.htm

Get the Graphire. A 4x5 Intuos 2 for twice the price (for the same size) is not worth it in my opinion. I have a Graphire and an 6x8 Intuos2 at the moment. I noticed that the Intuos2 is definitely more accurate and produces more fluid strokes but the difference is not noticeable to many. The Graphire is a great tablet to start of with.
