I am revamping my website colour scheme, and i need a little help with the colours of the top menu. At the moment i have come up with 2 colour schemes. Whatever section of the site you are on, the button turns red, and also when you hover over buttons they will turn red.

Can i please have feedback on the 2 colour schemes below and suggestions of what colour schemes i could use?

#2 is not very comfortable to watch. Too strong color to use as blocks. You could add that orange to #1 as accentuating text link colors tho.

You could also go with a more regular block style menu instead of the tabs. See how that looks, I was never a fan of tabs...

Could you possibly give me some ideas / examples of other block menus i could use?

I like the colors, but the hearts are annoying

I think you should do something in the middle of orange and brown...both are exteeme dull or bright...

the hearts are a clever touch. Removing the orange lightens the look of the nav. I like the second design without the button styles on all the links, but I could see how that could be confusing to navigate :\
