Was doing a logo for a my company and got the feeling that it oddly resembled adobe acrobat, but maybe I'm just too worried. Do you like the logo, is the one in my sig better?, do you think it looks too much like something elses? It's only a triangle so I'm sure it's been done before but as I said before, I might just be too paranoid.

First of all your line on the bottom is too long so it makes it almost look like a base. Kind of makes it look less triangle like. then the top slopes away too much giving the feeling that they are not suppose to connect.

Hmm... I also kind of saw the acrobat but not really enough to matter imo as you may want to rethink the triangle logo idea as its rather "bland". It works, but could be something better.

I think you need to roughen the stroke more on the bottom, like it was made with a crowquill; it would look better

I think the lines need more dynamic width!

I have no idea what dynamic width is.

Is it mankles? :tini:

I think that he wants the lines to get wider as one gets closer to the center of each line (and skinnier near the tips).

Well I suck at Illustrator and have no idea how to do that! Hah!

even I was confused by what he meant, by using an ambiguous word like dynamic

dynamic-- ever changing adaptable, or just stands out?

Well judging from immediate feedback it doesn't seem to be too bad, I will try to play with the whole dynamic thing and making the bottom line a little thicker, etc. To be honest I love the logo but wanted other opinions from you fine people before I made business cards and what not.

Really? I was considering complementing him on his word choice and skill in noticing that having the lines progressively get larger would make the logo look nicer, except that it would have been fairly silly of me to make a post like that since it probably wouldn't help Syous at all.

Why won't it help me?

wes_design

He had a good observation on the lines but the word choice was not in favor for me

it's probably just me

but the lines do need more work

what would be nice if they complemented the font weight of the text used underneath the lines

and tapering at the ends would be nice too

Syous

How do you taper the ends? I was hoping it would be as easy as changing the stroke weight of the end point but it isn't that easy it turns out. I am trying out some different brushes and am getting nicer results tho.

First thing I thought was "upside down uterus" but maybe that's just me.

I think the typography is pretty bad. Is it a free font?

Syous
July 27th, 2008, 08:29 AM
The extra text is just from a picture i was creating with the logo. The font for "designs by Rema" is eurofurence, and ya it's free. If you have some suggestions swing em my way.

If you put it into context- which it is you'd know it meant a differentiation in thickness Even you should be able to infer that. ;)

---

I think the slice in the lines is kind of neat. The volume of type feels a bit much (designs by rema). Maybe shorten it so it's not so heavy? I think the type could also do with some sprucing up to match the line quality of the symbol.

Ya I'm going to find a handwriting font since I like those and see how it works out. I appreciate all your guys help, you rock.

And sorry about the dynamic thing, I also dabble in programming and dynamic means something totally different but then again it doesn't.

Ya haven't slept yet.
Ya.

I like it the way it is, i haven't slept yet either so maybe my opinion shouldn't count for much

I like that logo a lot more, and I don't see any reproductive organ at all anymore.

The font is pretty horrible though, really. :/

On a random note, Syous your site is still trying to give me a virus. Avast keeps saying something about iFrame generators or something...I aborted the connection.

Syous

Ya I dunno what is going on with that theros, but our site does use iFrames (a mistake I know). We're relaunching early this week so hopefully it won't be an issue!

:beer2:looks better but now the logo image stroke styles doesn't go well with the font

sorry to say guy...and tapering + perspective would add some 3d without having to resort to gradient use

hand written font uhmm no
try a slab serif it can keep your logo grounded or even serif but modified with a bold weight

@darkmotion---- sorry but all that SAT context went out the window once I received my BA diploma...reading comprehension...what's that again?? :link: and for the record I still think its poor choice granted using context, besides a person of your intellect has a plethora of words to choose from...I expected better from U ;(

(

There are are no gradients in the logo, the image above is a header with a gradient in the background that's all.

Going to try some handwritten fonts and find a good bold serif font like you suggested.
