hi all

was after a capture form code that requires the user to sign up their email, then a script (php hopefully) that would store the emails somewhere, then email a link to that email address with a link to download a PDF.....

basically offering a free PDF of interest to the users when they sign up??

not sure the correct term for this sort of process so having diffuiculty finding any scripts online!!

any help appreciated

What type of database will you be using the store the email addresses?

The mailing part is done with the *mail* function by PHP.
http://www.php.net/function.mail

It is fairly well documented, especially if you read through some of the user comments on that page.

not sure on database or even if its possible with flat files?!

never used before but id assume there were pre written scripts for this?! or companies offering the service?

any good programs on offer (paid or not) to manage mail lists and email capture....

think http://www.campaignmonitor.com/ looks good.....will allow email collection and forward to get download whitepaper page then also has all the email campaign features if/when needed after....

anyone used these guys before...seems like a good service
