None of the fancy 3D rendering programs, since I can't use them for toffee, so plain Illustrator and Photoshop. :)
This guy is for a private project, but it's my first attempt at drawing a mech. Eventually he'll have a wacky human partner. :)

Nice,
Looks very old Robotch-ish.
I like the old 80's early 90's manga look.. nice job.
The only thing I critic is the fingers.. they look a bit 'loose' , not mechy enough.. hehehe
Good job you pom! :beam:

I have to admit I was using EG's rendered mechs as a guide for this, as I haven't the faintest idea where to start. :)

hahah Kit that's very flattering, but how on earth did you end up with a Valkyrie using my mechs as a guide? :P
Blimey! I love that word, thanks Kit! :beam:

Carefully, evidently. :)
Basically, I know nothing about mechs or how to draw them, since I've only ever done people. So I kind of used your 3D images to see how these guys are made... The whole 'big body, tiny head' thing. Like... You've got one where the main parts of it are chunky, but the joints are smaller, so I used that sort of idea. Plus the colouring, obviously, so he looks metallic.
Once I'd got the outline I added all the detail line type bits, as if he's made up of plates or something, as I wanted him to look messier than your guys. :)
See, I've got you all using my English colloquialisms now. :beam:

haha that's awesome, I should try to make some line art as well. It's been 938247392847 yrs since I opened up Illustrator.
One thing I like about your work Kit is your coloring technique.
Blimey! Kiddywinks! Those words are just swell! :beam:

That's a lot of years. :P
Thanks EG. :) Your 3D work knocks me for six (more English-isms for you there).
It's all just coloured really simply, one flat colour then another for the shadows with a blur round the edges. Sometimes I don't even bother with the blur. :P It's probably the laziest method for colouring in the world. :)

I probably need to make more of the eye thing in the head, that might help. :)

Curses. Foiled at the last hurdle by a scribble of a man and his dog... :P
But yes, the guy is meant to go in the top, but I probably do need to make more of that anyway. :)
