Hello,

were looking for a 1 to 2 terabyte Network Attached Storage device to make our backup and retrieval simple.

The reviews on Cnet and Amazon are contradictory and not much use.

What do you use and why?

Thanks.

I took an old computer, installed Linux, attached an external disk to it, and put it in the closet. :D

Just get one of the new mirror raids that western digital has... that way you won't have to worry about anything.

Uhh... don't know much about networking it though...

Aren't there already ready NAS systems out there? Sorta like that myBook system except built in networking or something.

Yeah, stuff like this: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=NAS+server&oe=UTF-8&cid=13104660706869957225

Though, Jeff's suggestion probably is the easiest and cheapest.
