How do I import movies into a flash file

Hello,

Can someone help, I have made 3 AVI's and want to embed these into a Flash movie, ok they import but when you preview the Flash movie the AVI's are just static and dont move, any help would be good, and a little help would be better than none.

using flash 5 or mx?
5: no way, except export the avi as a series of bitmap images and import these into flash
mx does the trick!
