It is indeed impossible that none of the parents of the children at that school is a webmaster or somebody who knows about PHP! Nor the teachers (especially the IT teacher)!

true, although i think the web site that posted the story is making a joke out of it.

heh, Love to know which school it is i fthat is the case! What do they teach in it?

what i think the teacher would be like
"okay class, today we are goin to learn about "The Keyboard". If you press the keys the same 'letter' you pressed will appear on the scrren. Isn't that super?! Now, if we go into 'paint' you will see that this doesn't work....

...sorry? what was that steve? your keyboard wont work? that because you need to turn the computer on dear...."

Actually, this story isn't soo far fetched. In my C++/Java classroom, almost all of my friends got suspended for simply accessing the internet. It didn't matter if you even surfed a web site - if the Internet Explorer browser was launched, the network admins would hear about it and get that student at that computer at that time in trouble.

My school is like, the most ungeeky school ever. Theres like, 4 geeks, and they are slowly dying out. If someone heard of PHP or AS, they'd say "Where can I get some?" But it does sound cool to use these as a drug.

AS - Acid Shot
ASP - Acid Shot Pot

:P

I'm bad at this.

I had an Internet Publishing class directly after that, so I didn't mind the temporary annoyance. I should have gotten in trouble also, but somehow I was lucky to have been in the class when the network admins were not logging the net usage :ub: All subsequent classes were not so lucky.

heh, so you were ok then. Geez, if my school had a net ban i would've gone crazy!

Our school revolves around the internet. Report cards get sent to a parent e-mail too and teachers contact parents by e-mail mostly. I hate it because then I can't say, "They're not home right now" or "You've got the wrong number" or "They no longer live here." :(

oh well max! i mean it cant be that bad right? you must stay outta troubble :bad:

as far as this story. if this is true i will die! even my parents know what AS and PHP and HTML, XML etc. is because they see the stuff i do and see the books. i see why this isnt far fetched because some kids can get expelled for launching the command prompt. it does seem a bit weird that no one knew like pom said.

but it IS kansas

I remember that kirupa. It was pretty funny.

I could see the student getting suspended, cause like even our Internet Publishing 2 teacher wouldn't know what PHP is. But after a day and the kid explaining what PHP is, I doubt they'd get drug dogs and all the parents going crazy.
