I kinda like it so far. It's fairly responsive, albeit not quite as lightning fast as Opera 9.5.

Renders fine, and firebug is updated to work. I'm having some text issues when I write in certain textfields however (like this, where I can't see my cursor. Bit annoying to say the least..)

Also, when you type, the mouse goes into hiding permanently until you move it again. Don't quite see the point of that :)

Q.E.D. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Q.E.D.)

I thought the whole download day gimmick turned out a bit negatively. "Download day" was a great idea, but execution was very irresponsibly carried out. When was download day? June 17, announced 4 days before the actual date. How could you download on download day? You couldn't, because it started at 10am PST, and oh yeah, the multitude of server crashing.

I hate Firefox the application, but I would really like to see their market share grow higher. This download day event did not help at all IMO.

// edit. Oh yeah we are talking about Firefox 3 the app itself aren't we? In that case I have nothing positive or optimistic to say about it at all either. It's still bloated as hell. Until they multithread the app, it's going to hang like mad whenever you go to a new site and Firefox look ups DNS info IN THE SAME GOD DAMN THREAD AS THE GUI. JEESH what is this DOS?

It handled my 40+ tabs that i have open when I started it up. Thats a good sign.

I love the look because it blends in with Vista more now. I'll post back when it crashes.

I like the little animation when I click links and it takes me to another tab the most probably so far nothing other than the look changed. which is good.

Been using it since about beta 2 I think. I love the newer autocomplete for the address bar. Being able to pull up a page by title, or a string anywhere in the URL is sweet.

i also hate how the bookmark toolbar is taller than firefox 2's

This whole "google ad" crap in my address bar is going to piss me off VERY fast if thats what happens when you don't flush your history every now and then....

i start typing the first few letters of a website, and theres 5 google ad pages and THEN it displays the url i want to go to, and then MORE google ad pages after that.

ps. sekasi, i tried doing what you suggest to those paragraphs ^ but nothing happened

PC? or mac?

Liking it so far, feels snappier than FF2 and the new UI is pretty neat. I'm also excited about the new "Awesome Bar", should help out a great deal in my plentiful moments of "what the hell was that site again?".

Can anyone confirm that the Remove All button in the password manager asks for confirmation now? I've had a bad experience with that in the past, and it's just baffling to me how FF2 does not ask you for confirmation before deleting all of your stored passwords. Hopefully they fixed that now.

Guys.. I've been noticing weirdness in hit areas in flash on FF3 (fp10)

Youtube especially the play/pause button acts really bizarre for me.

Anyone else got this?

edit (btw sorry about absolutely spamming this thread..); I uninstalled FP10 and reverted to 9.0.124 and that took away the problem so it's definitely something FF3/FP10 specific. Not sure if it's mac only tho..

fasterthanlight™
June 20th, 2008, 10:28 AM
I'm trying to switch *into* safari, but there are too, too many workflow-inhibiting factors that come into play.

For example,
I'm lazy and use my keyboard for most navigation, so like, I'll do a ctrl-F (command-f) to find a string that exists in the url i want to click, and then i press escape, and then enter and bingo, i've *clicked* the link. I've got it down to a fine science now, most of the time its quicker than using a mouse.

The escape-then-enter doesn't work in safari.
