I have been thinking for awhile that it would be nice if mods or new thread posters could mark a topic as solved, resolved, fixed, whatever, once their problem gets...well, resolved. Oftentimes people will post a question and never come back even though their question gets answered (that info could still be helpful for the 3 people that presently use the search feature before posting their question).

Possibly from the postings that have been marked as resolved there could be some sort of pool of topics that people frequently post about linked to the threads with resolutions. Also, I think more people would be inclined to use the search feature if they could see from the results that an issue was resolved, rather than blindly clicking a result and reading 38 unrelated replies to an unresolved issue. Make sense? This doesn't seem to difficult to implement, but could prove very helpful.

Regardless of any added functionality (like the search mod or pool of resolved problems), seeing that an issue is resolved would be really nice.

I think it's a good idea.

There needs to be a short, simpler way of saying "solved" or "resolved"

prefixes on thread titles are already taking up their fair share of room

Good point, what if it looked just like Sticky:

yea, like, a red, bold ! for those that are unanswered?

*edit: or even • / •

(I can't stress enough how helpful this would be in the clientside forum...... or any forum for that matter)

Perfect...should Kirupa ever introduce a braille forum.

This is an interesting idea. It sounds really good, but I wonder how hard it would be to integrate it into the forum? I guess we just wait to see what kirupa says.

I really like this idea, and I even tried to implement this earlier. The problem is that, at least a year ago when I looked into this, it modifies a lot of files in vBulletin. That makes upgrades harder, since each upgrade would require me to re-modify those files.

Thought so, but there's gotta be a plugin written for it in the time since you last researched?

I'm sure some vB-minded user on this forum could maybe be persuaded through excessive back rubs to write one? I know I'd offer to do the rubbing ....

Ok, I have posted on the vBulletin forums asking for this functionality, for I couldn't find (even the older version) by searching, so hopefully they will have an answer soon :)

I could try and throw something together if there isn't one already.

What good would two identical dots be for readers of braille? ;)

Thanks Kirupa! ^Just because their blind doesn't mean their color-blind too silly! :)

btw Kirupa, this may be a good starting point:

It's old, but we could help in getting it functional for 3.7 (probably, you can't download or see the code without a license).
