how do u change the color of the background not the stage

im havin problems on how to change the color of the background
i just got the Flash CS3 n my stage n background is all white, so i cant see where im drawin on the stage:puzzle:. like for example the flash 8 has a gray background n then ur stage which is white. Now how can i get it to look like that for my CS3.
soo anyone can u help me with this issue im having thank you.

The colour of the background is set on the Properties tab. (Click on the colour swatch and choose whatever colour you want.)

But whatever colour you choose, that'll be the colour of your stage. (I don't know how that compares with Flash 8, never having used Flash 8.)

The area surrounding the stage should be light gray by default.
The stage can be any color.
