How to acheive this?

Hello everyone,
I am not sure the correct name of what I am trying to achieve, but I will try explain best I can. On my homepage I would like to display featured news of certain topics. Users can click on the tabs and the different content with images is displayed all in the same place depending on which one they have clicked, without having to move off the homepage.
An example of exactly what I mean is on www.yahoo.co.uk (http://www.yahoo.co.uk) Underneath the featured news section they have tabs for news, sport, entertainment, video where you click and the content changes, without having to move to external page.
Please could you tell me how to achieve this or point me towards a tutorial. If you don't understand what I mean please let me know and I will try to explain better!

This is done using AJAX. There are loads of ways to do this, and it can be easily done in Dreamweaver CS3 or later.
