Name: Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode One
Realese Date: May 21, 2008
Console(s): PC, MAC, Xbox Live Arcade
Score: 4.5/5
Review:
Recently, just a few weeks before the realese of Precipice of Darkness, I started to enjoy Penny Arcade's webcomics, which always left me in stitches. When Precipice of Darkness was finally realesed to the world, I was over the moon, and I ran to my local game shop to buy enough points to purchase such a hidden gem. I'll agree now that the price-tag does sound alot, but for the comedy, story-line, character-creation, and the ability to copy your character to future episodes.
Storyline:
The story-line starts of with a dis-embodied "Tutorial Character" Introducing the ropes and everything. Shortly after the start of the game, Your home gets destroyed by a giant Fruit *ahem* "Friend" *Cough* *Cough* Prime stamping on it, and you go out seeking revenge. Soon you meet up with Gabe and Tycho, and the adventure unfolds.
Gameplay:
Precipice of Darkness uses a hard-to-explain combat system. Its like a RTS-TBS kind of combat system, which turns out to be a winner. The non-combat gameplay is like any other RPG game, but with a Penny Arcade twist....
Is it Worth it? :
I Think Penny Arcade is worth EVERY Point they charge for it. The Humour, game-play and story-line all help to make this game an absolute winner, roll on Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness Episode Two
