Does anyone know how I can pause a single layer?

don't think that is possible snce the movie plays by frames and all layers are included in that frame.

I think someone asked this before, and the answer was basically no, because of something I don't remember. I'm such a great help, I know.

That's right I think, you can't stop a single Layer. But i you want someting to stop on a single layer than place that in a movieclip and than stop the movieclip.

Why I want to do this?

I have a Flash anim. witch consists out of multiple scenes. When a scene loads, one layer displayes a single animation that has to stop after 15 sec.

Does anyone know if this is possible?
