Several things... :)

1. We don't have Euros in England, we're still on good old pounds and pence. :)

2. Motorways, not Autobahns. :)

3. Petrol, not gas. :)

4. And as for going fast.... Weeeeee! :beam:

I think women drive abysmally to be honest, but for some reason we seem to have less insurance claims than men, so the premiums are less.

Washing a car, is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. You've got to caress the bodywork. Breathe softly and gently. And give every inch of it your loving attention. And make sure you've got a nice wet sponge.

when u get your car and learn to drive you will be able to go exploring the countryside...

u could always go fishing too kit...

going fishing was very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First of all, clean and inspect your tackle, carefully pull back your rod over, and remove any dirt or gunge that may have built up whilst not in use. Then, extend your rod to its full length, and check that there are no kinks or any wear. Particularly at the base, where the grip is usually applied. Make sure you've got a decent float, the appropriate bait, and that there's plenty of shot in your bag.

if its got one of those cupholders remember this too...

Making a cup of coffee is like making love to a beautiful woman. It's got to be hot. You've got to take your time. You've got to stir... gently and firmly. You've got to grind your beans until they squeak. And then you put in the milk.

and just in case you bcome another statistic theres always this...

Going to the brink of death and back, in a nine car pile-up on a dual carriage-way, is ... very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First of all, brace yourself, hold on tight - particularly if it's a rear-ender. And pray you make contact with her twin airbags as soon as possible.

Kitiara

No turbo. :( I was tempted by the Scoob P1, but the insurance on that really was unbelieveable. Next time. :)

It's not brand new... It's a year old, about 5000 miles on the clock. :) So that explains the price a bit. The new registration is just coming out, so people are getting rid of the year old ones now... :)

That one isn't mine, kit was asking about trucks, so I showed her my favorite. My Ford Lightning is in the works. I am gonna have 22" chrome wheels, with a Corvette type racing tire (low profile). Functional ram air hood. A one inch lowering shackle in the front and a two inch in the rear. With 22" I won't have to lower it very much. I won't do much to the engine, but I will upgrade to a Borla Exhaust and add a jet programmer module. I don't like the Ford Fuel Injection intake so I will get an upgraded aftermarket one. I have no clue about the interior yet. I pay for the upgrades myself, I get great cost prices through my company and I do a lot of labor at our shop so I save a lot of money. Paint job is the only thing that will cost me. I have to throw on a bed cover and cut out the back to fit my subwoofers and amps. It is a sponsored vehicle so I will have to show it, mostly in L.A.

Working about 40 hours a week as a full time student just to pay for vehicle mods. I never buy myself anything besides upgrades for my truck.

It is a 2000 GMC Sierra XLT.
The best upgrade I have in it right now is my 4 10in Memphis Audio subs being pushed by a MMat 700x1 Watt Amp (that's 700wats RMS, it peaks about 1200) Also, I've got a Interfire 700 watt amp pushing my mids and highs. Some other upgrades include indiglo dials, Gaylord tonneau cover, Line-X Spray-in Bedline, Dual outlet Flowmasters (make my truck sound badass).

Nice ride.

Interesting to note that brits call a thousand pounds a "grand", just like we call a thousand dollars a "grand". Never heard that before.

I guess in the UK, a girl driving a little MG convertible would be analagous to a girl driving a Mustang/Camaro convertible in the US, eh? Always thought that was hot.

-C You mean we actually have the same term for something as you guys? :) I can say "grand" and not confuse anyone? Whoo hoo! :P

I'm going to have to look up to see what a Mustang looks like though, I'm hopeless on American cars. :)
Kit ... any luck on a better price? Yup. :beam: Went along on Tuesday and got an extra grand knocked off, 6 months tax, private plate plus full tank of fuel. :)

Must have been the skirt that swung it. :P

Hehe... Should have more of the car at the weekend, once I've been into the garage again. :) Skirt is an option. :P

Mustangs are much bigger cars, the typical American muscle car. Usually with a 4.6L V8, roaring down the highway. I much prefer the smaller well tuned engine, tight cornering, sports car. :)

My friend had an old MG, I remember us having to hit the starter with a hammer to get it started. It was cheeper than buying a new starter. :sigh:

Cheers!

4.6L? This little baby only has a 1.8, but it's a light car with 160 brake... So goes like **** off a shovel, to coin a phrase. :)

From what I've seen though, most American cars are powerful but heavy... I'm sure there's exceptions of course, but as a generalisation...

You are pretty much correct. Most of the domestic sports cars are heavy, with a large displacement engine. I think that stems from the old "muscle cars" that needed big engines to run because they were big and heavy. That design trend never seemed to stop. Even the "non-sports" luxury cars have bigger V8's. Not to mention the trucks and SUVs that have 5.9L+ displacements. It makes me wonder how people can afford the fuel required to run their car.

Cheers!

That's what I was thinking the consumption on those things must be massive.. Mind you, I also believe that fuel is a darn sight cheaper out there than it is in England... :sure:

Yup, us Americans love our excess!
Myself, I like german cars, the doors go "thunk" when you close 'em. That makes me happy for some reason.

Ah, the German precision. :)

I just love sports cars... One of my favourite sounds has to be a V8 engine. :)

Plus this one is a soft top, so on the one day of summer we're allowed each year, I can really enjoy it. :P

Yeah, I like sports cars too, unfortunately I can't buy nice cars anymore, I've wrecked so many my insurance would be in the neighborhood of $400-500 a month to get full coverage. I refuse to throw away that much money a month on insurance, it's just something I can't rationalize. I'm a 23 year old unmarried guy, so I guess the only thing I can do is wait a few years, or get married.
hm, there's a thought. Laidies? :p:

Oh well. :sigh:

How much is a gallon of 93 octane fuel for you there?

Cheers!

About $1.70 right now, I think. Astronomical to me, a couple years ago you could get 93 octane for like 1.10 a gallon, at the most. I'm starting to hate the whole car thing, I want to move somewhere I can rely on public transportation.

britain is good for that

Sorry, that was sarcasm, wasn't it? Britain having good public transport, I mean...

american cars are cool, really would like to own a ford mustang or another musclecar someday

for the amount of gas per mile you can fit an lpgtank for cheaper driving ;).
