This has been asked several times now, and you'd be lucky to get moderator status by asking.

Getting Moderator status, I think, is all about how to act to things, if you act badly or calmly. If you help out people well or get there hopes up and drop them again.

I have been a moderator on other forums.:angel:So? You've only been here a year and have a post count around 500, which reflects to about 500-1000 possibly helpful comments, compared to other members here who have posted 10 times as many helpful comments and have contributed to this community 100 times as much as you. And even they aren't moderators. Only people who have one or more of the special moderator karma traits: 1) Dedication to the community and willingness to help or 2) Hugely inflated ego (Just kidding about #2.), are allowed to be moderators.
