needs to be designed a bit better, but none-the-less it has some useful tuts. so not sure what you really what to be criticised on?

the design is old a dated. your use of photoshop inner-shadow and embossing are hideous. it's like you turned them on and just left the settings at default. you're using some thick bold sans-serif fonts and then you're using thin serif fonts they should be the same and consistent. this thing looks like 1990 all over again. there might be some decent tuts in there but the design doesn't convince me that there is any talent behind the site so it doesn't make me want to investigate...

The content is promising.
The design looks a bit dull with so much grey. Try using grey on white instead of white on grey!
Use HTML and images for the nav, rather than Flash. (Better for accessibility and SEO).
The content would be easier to read with greater line-spacing. Perhaps 1.6em.

Hmm.. I have to agree with haam here.. Something is missing, the finer details that gives that extra feeling is missing. Just try to think more about the fonts you are using and make things a little more stylish. I think that would boost the overall feeling of the interface and make one more eager to look at the tutorials. Now it looks very flash 5 or something ;)

Ohh.. another thing, the news feed in the middle of the page has textfields thats you can write in.. just make it a dynamic textfield without input possibilities.

What do you think about? I think about a lot of things.
But I have to admit that that site probably isn't one of them.

Make the design look like craigslist and it'll be far more easier to use. And load.

This site, of yours, looks graphic heavy. Because of this, I am pulling myself away from viewing it further. If the site had a modern look to it, that looked more like a tut site, the information would look more worth the time. Right now, this site's design looks as if your inexperience has just popped out of this graphical molehole. Loading is important, as one of the others have pointed out. This site would take awhile. Overall, the site is heavy.
Cleanliness is surely close to professionalism, when it comes to tut sites, these days and this site does not reflect that at all. Should have done your homework before you handed in this assignment.
And it's in the wrong place since it is your site.
...that's what I think.

Pretty awful.
This is a Showcase/Critique post - definitely not a Kool Site

I found the photoshop 4 comment quite amusing.
This site literally looks 10 years old, and 10 years out of date, that's not an exaggeration.
It's so horrendously ugly that I didn't even stay to see if the content was of any value.

I think the idea of a flash tutorial is a really good idea I just think that you could have showcased the use of flash better. I am not keen on the menu system.

my first suggestion - don't get discouraged by all the negative vibes from the previous comments..... :D
second, I love how when you roll over the top nav buttons (flash tutorials, sign up, home) the text box between them gives a little explanation of what the link leads to. that's really neat... better than alt text.
the site is a little too gray, and does look somewhat dated - my suggestion would be take off all the background, both the stripy gray and the darker gray box encompassing the content. leave just the gray round-edged containers for each bit of content, and either make them plain single-color gray or gloss them out a little. anything to give you a neater, less cluttered look.
step two - get some glossier/ prettier/ more modern looking buttons. think along the lines of this- http://mashable.com/2007/05/25/button-generator/
at any rate, for a modern feel think anything that makes things look light, airy and clean. take away gray tones, use clear colors, a simple color scheme and a bit of glitz :D

definitely looks dated and busy as well .... the content is good though ... you definitely can make something better layout wise and color wise ....
