So.. okay.. I was wondering if anyone knew if it was possible to set up my hotmail account in Microsoft Outlook 2000?? And if it is possible could someone tell me how do do it??
I am pretty sure you can do it in Outlook Express but i would rather do it in Outlook.. so..
Thanks in advance..

it should go something like this (i have outlook express, but regular outlook shouldn't be TOO much different).
just open up outlook, then click on tools-->accounts
then click on add-->mail
then you should be prompted from their.
if outlook is different, i'm sorry for posting the wrong advice :) i think i have outlook 2000 on my laptop...i'll look later

Hi Aussie,
I tried this about 5 months ago, And it did work.
It creates a fooder on the left too, called hotmail and it has a hotmail icon, So OE was meant to do it.
Have you tried
Pop3.hotmail.com
&
Smtp.hotmail.com
And then for your user name and password, Put the username and password that you use to login on the hotmail site.

Hi Aussie,
When i say OE, I mean Outlook Express
I think there is an option to use a hotmail address.
Im using Incredimail now so i can't look.
Open OE and go to
Tools > Accounts > Add
Then follow the wizard
When it asks you for your email, type yout hotmail email
Im sure it will ask you somewhere if it is a hotmail account.

you can't have hotmail with outlook nor any mail messenger system because hotmail does not support pop (incoming) external mail servers - it has to be done inside their hotmail.com pages...
oh and I don't think your outgoing server (smtp) can possibly be hotmail since it's not hotmail that gives you your internet connection... Generally speaking your smtp address contains your ISP's name...
