I'm not a gamer, and have no clue what a "mod" is, but I can tell you that Cold Fusion is a server side scripting language, similar to ASP, PHP, Perl, etc. If that's what's needed to make a gaming mod then I would imagine you could do so with CFMX.

A mod? Don't those usually include new skins, guns etc? I don't think coldfusion could do that......

oh, i actually have no clue to what coldfusion does. But from what abzoid says, it sounds like it is more for web stuff...

applications as in web applications or rich media applications. it's used as a glue language between a front end (html or flash etc) and a backend, which would be a database in most cases.... so no, you can't make games with CFMX :sigh:

mod means modification. he means to say that the game counter strike is a modification of the origianl half life.

No! No way in hell.
well maybe in hell, but definately not in CFMX... as is mentioned above, CFMX is a serverside scripting language... therefore when it says used for making applications, it pretty much means "web applications"

but personally i have never used CFMX and would like to know if its ne good compared to PHP and ASP

I can do a bit of PHP and quite a lof of ASP, but no clue on cfmx!!

I've dabbled a bit with Cold Fusion, and it's very comparable to ASP and PHP. The biggest problem with using it, is the availability of host servers that support it.

It is the slowest processing of the 3. If you want a server-side language go hit up ASP.net. Now that is some badass stuff and blows PHP, ASP classic and sure as hell CFMX.

And yes there is no way in HELL because it is a server-side scripting language and not C++.
