hi,
I have an illustrator file with 34 layers in it. I imported it to flash as separate layers. Now I want to go back,
change the look of the shapes in illustrator and have the changes show up in flash. Any ideas on how to
do this?

I'm not sure if it would be the case in your situation (I don't import a lot of illustrator files into Flash), but when I'm importing other resources like bitmaps, I can update them by simply re-importing the file. In the case of a bitmap (jpg, png, etc), I just go File >> Import to Library, and then choose the file. Flash recognizes that I already have it in the library and will give me the option to simply update the existing library item. This way I don't lose any work I've done with it.

I suppose the best case scenario might be to isolate the shapes you need to edit (hopefully it isn't all of them) and tweak them in illustrator, re-export and then merge them into your layered library symbol. I don't know how easy it is to update otherwise when you're bringing in a file that can be imported different ways like PSD's and AI files.
