200 hours and its still not done...
Some critique on what I have so far would be much appreciated! ^_^
update 1: tried adding some primitive sounds
update 2: disabled sounds (Thank God) and added a console. It has no function as of yet.

Really fun actually. Tutorial was pretty easy to follow. This has potential and runs really good. Small thing zoom in should zoom toward the mouse position. Like its really easy to zoom out and zoom in.
//edit, double clicking a single unit should make it select all of its type in an area.

wow, this really has a lot of potential.
Set up some sort of grouping system so you can map groups of ships to hotkeys.

Super fun, great game. Better graphics would be cool but I really like it.

Really nice game!
It's so simple, yet so captivating. I've been playing this for a whole straight hour!
Really nice work.

Set up some sort of grouping system so you can map groups of ships to hotkeys.
select a group of units and press ctrl+1, 2, 3, or 4
pressing 1, 2, 3, or 4 will restore your selection ^_^
also ctrl+a selects all units
//edit, double clicking a single unit should make it select all of its type in an area.
Templarian, I will be adding easier selection features soon.
sounds would be awesome. though i am sure you're working on it. ;-)
johnlouis, I recorded a few sound clips yesterday. I'm hoping to implement them later this week.

Yea this sucked up over an hour of my time last night,
but then the bad guys came at me with an entire circle of those spikey things and a seemingly endless arsenal of arrows.

Holy crap - that's amazing. Maybe a sort of map in the corner somewhere would be nice. :D

In all seriousness, this is a really really addictive little app. I'd be more than happy to waste countless hours here, but I think the payoff needs to be maybe adjusted slightly, and weighted towards playing the game for longer than just an hour session, then getting "DONE IN" by those spikey prism things...
maybe thinking about multiplayer, whether realtime or sessionally, and getting some FSO stuff in there to allow return gamers might be my next step, were I in possession of such a ******* addictive concept...
either way though, another big congrats on keeping my very short attention span entertained during hours when i should really be wading through code for my employer...

Ok, maybe i just didnt have enough of them doing their thing lol
but I agree with biznuge on putting an emphasis on long term playability as opposed to 1 hour of play and then spikies circle you.
also, if this were able to be expanded like star craft can, you might be onto something.
I mean, i built the research lab, and the shipyard, and i found myself asking "What else can I build?"
Why can't i have more home bases? that way I can spread out my infantry across the map.
My end point is this: Make it bigger, longer, and more expanderish

totally....
I think you sucked us in far too far man. in the words of a **** film director... make it longer.....
I only got to the point where my boss was popping into the office every five minutes to collect things from our shared printer, but i was totally turning my monitor so I could have more game time... seriously. I'm already addicted.; give me more. give me high score tables, and Flash cookies. Give me pay per play (like I'm gonna do that.... hahahah).
seriously. absolutely brilliant concept. Keep pushing it man. Well done!
I'd agree whole-heartedly with fasterthanlight.... gimme gimme......

I wish you could rebuild the base station thing or whatever, I guess the point is to protect it but after a while it's just impossible to do anything because there's so much going on with 50 of your own prism ships against twice as many bad guys.
I think there needs to be some units that can't just be flown over, so the bad guys can be siphoned in or around a certain area.

loved it... but you need to move the gui down a bit or to another edge. I was having fun and went to click my shipyard to build more and accidentally hit my bookmark toolbar in firefox. lost the progress and it reloaded :(
very fun though.

I added 8px of a console bar as a buffer, so it should be as much of a problem anymore.
I was messing around with some javascript trying to find a function that could send a confirm window for the unload method but I couldn't get it to work.
please, no sound!!
It's gone, forgive me.

Selecting people is kinda tricky, I want to be able to select my harvesters and ships separately. Also maybe more colors? Because some times I have a hard time telling things apart.

I like your game, good job. I played for over an hour before I was destroyed. Eventually the waves of enemies are too powerful and I can't produce ships fast enough to keep up and then my shipyard gets destroyed and I'm pretty much done.
A couple things I noticed:
I didn't find Heavy Turrets to be especially useful. They seemed to turn too slow to actually be able to track and fire on the enemy ships. They seem to far much much less than the Light Turrets.
Selected and deselecting units is difficult, but it eventually didn't matter so much with the number of enemies on the screen.
Turrets get selected just like units do but I can't order them around or anything.
When you finally lose and your base is destroyed the game doesn't end and I can keep building shipyards (If I researched the economy thing were it just generates money) Of course the screen gets so filled with enemies you can't hardly get any ships constructed before your shipyard gets destroyed.
There was nothing that told me how well I did or how long I played or how many guys I killed or anything. Something like that would be cool.
Keep up the good work!
