I have recorded an action that does "save for web" on PNG's to convert them into transparent GIF's. During the saving process, I just left the filename as its defualt "untitled-1".
So I run this action on a huge folder. I set set the naming scheme as "document name + 3 digit serial + extension" and checked "override save".
The problem is that the batch attempts to save all of the images as literally "untitled-1.gif". Obviously it can't do that, because of the multiple "replace this image" warnings.

How do I force batch processing to use the naming scheme which I specified? I have CS2, BTW.

override save only overrides "save" and "save-as" events, not Save for web

you'll have to convert your save for web action to a normal save-as

i ..... think

Also i think there is a "pause for user input" setting somewhere, i'm not sure where or what it does specifically but i've run across it a few times doing batch stuff.... but this would mean manually naming your stuff

This tutorial shows that it is possible with "save for web". I followed the steps, but I don't get why the file naming is not working. Also, you can't save as a gif with plain "save as".
