just a simple question,

Does Macromedia Flash MX can load images except .jpg ?

You can only load non progressive JPEG's and that's that. :-\

I dont think so. Ive tried gif, but it wont work.

dynamically you can load only nonprogressive jpgs as Kax said.

however you can in Flash import different file format, but they will all be encoded as jpgs in the end...

Is there a way to load .gif or png (transparent background) ? Not import the file.

NO.

You could import the PNG/GIF into Flash, export the SWF and then you can load the SWF into your movie.

I use XML to load external images. I can't use you suggestion. We must propose to Macromedia to add other extension beside jpg :)
