Me and 2 other mates visited an appartment today in Brussels. While I'm going to go to film school, my 2 other friends will be working in (or around) Brussels.
Anyway, we were just amazed by this roomy and rather cheap appartment in this nice and calm street (which is very rare in Brussels). We decided to take it right away! :) I'm so excited!! Yaay! :thumb:
Here are a couple of pics:

Electrongeek & all, actually that's not a bad idea. I need someone now and then to do my laundry and stuff. :P lol
Naaah, if any of you ever come to Belgium, you're more then welcome to visit me! About the colours, that's not too bad compared with the bathroom! It's like, flashy green...
That is the Belgian flag by the way.

Why can't flags be more 1337 - i mean - most flags are plain and boring - it would be nice to see some color and texture in flags.
Btw - nice place - your not moving in there because im going to first :P

Yeah, Americans, how come you don't know our flags? We know yours dammit! :P
True. Our flag is boring. It should be a pack of fries (or a glass of beer) if you ask me.
Oh, and Domo, let's fight for it! :bad:

Nice place man, looks like a great find. Would mind me asking how much (in american dollars) it will cost a month. I'm always interested in comparing housing expenses. If you don't want to share than that's fine also, I can respect that.

Sureshot: so when will you be in the neighbourhood ;) ... the picture of the bed room is indeed a bit light...
Domo: Heh! A stick! We Belgians eat that for lunch! :bad: Er... or something.
DigitalPimp: Well, it's about 750 euros (~ 750 US dollars) / month. But since we're living with 3, each one of us has to pay 250 euros / dollars. And that's the price for a single student room in Belgium. :) So yay!
About the flags, I like the Canadian one. And the Japanese one, even if it's simple as well.

what i dont like about americans and our flag is, most people have no idea what the 13 stripes mean! ...
And for those who dont know, it was the age of George Washington's son when he became president...
lol Just kidding =) ;)

That looks like a nice place. It must be cool to room with friends, cause you can get a bigger place and split the cost, so it works out nicely. Congrats.

Ok lemme explain :)
This is the United Kingdoms flag...
http://www.shyhungary.hu/system/logo/uk-flag.gif
It combines the 3 flags of the Patron Saints of England, Scotland and Ireland...
Shown in this picture :beam:
http://home.12move.nl/~sh829487/ukvlaggen.gif
But why no Wales you may ask?
http://tomcatbook.sourceforge.net/images/flags/welsh-flag.gif
The Welsh dragon does not appear on the flag because when the first UK flag was created in 1606, Wales was already united with England. Wales was conquered by England in the 13th Century. In 1536, under Henry VIII, the Act of Union joined England and Wales officially. Therefore Wales is represented by the English Flag instead of the Welsh dragon.
So there you go, your history lesson for the day ;)

we know who payed attention in history. but why does everyone refer to the union jack as england? thats what i always learned the english flag was. and i was taught that they were all seperate contries, not the UK

The reason us Americans don't know all the flags is because geologically we aren't stationed close to any countries. I mean our states are like the distance of country to country in europe. I know the mexican flag but that is because I'm in California.
Also, I thought the 'X's were centered on the union jack? How come on your drawing Soul the red 'X' is offset?

nah, you would think, but i noticed that a little while back. just the way it is. i know mexico canada and a few euopean contries and thats it. we dont need to know them cause we arent near them!

PATAT?! You know this? Are you Belgian? Dutch maybe? Hmmm...
And about the flags again, I'm Flemish in Belgium, so I have this flag as well:
http://www.immigration-usa.com/flags/new11/flanders.gif
which looks a bit cooler than the Belgian one. :)

No problem :beam:
And the crosses are off-centre because...
The designers had to make sure that all the crosses could be recognised as individual flags as well as being in the same flag together. They did this by making the background of the white Scottish cross broader on one side of the Irish red than on the other. This meant that all the separate crosses could be seen and the Irish Cross had it's original white background.
