Im looking to buy a few books to up my knowledge of PHP/MySQL and Actionscript in Flash MX.

Does anyone have any recommendations for excellent PHP/MySQL and Actionscript books? If you have, please tell me a bit about the book(s) and where I could get them online. I'm looking for books that start from the basics and move into the more advanced stuff, just so I can always use it in the future :)

I'm also a resident of Canada so be sure they ship here :P

Thanks a lot,

Domo

There's a couple that have both flash and PHP/MySQL:

This is not to say you can only get them at amazon. check your local library, i'm sure they have some books on these topics there.

What about just a book for straight up PHP and one for Flash/Actionscript?

Do you have a favorite?

Thanks for replying btw :)

Um, for actionscript, i'd recommend colin moock's book for flash MX. he goes into detail with all of the functions in MX and best of all, has examples.

For PHP find an O'Reilly book. those are the among best, IMO.
