Hey,
I was using the "synchronize" function in dreamweaver to update my website and then all of a sudden I cancelled the process 2 or 3 times because I realized that I had to update more things on html files. And now whenever I try to connect to my webserver and use dreamweaver's synchronize function it never connects to the webserver. It always tells me that there is an error. What is going on and how can I fix this? If I try to use "SmartFTP" to upload my site it can't connect to the webserver either and shows me the error: "SmartFTP can't connect, remote machine refused the connection." Because of this mess I can't update my website. Is there way to fix this? Thanks and please help me out.

why dont you try to delete all the files on your site and then reupload the whole site if its a small site it will go unnoticed ;)

I am not sure how to fix your error but I think the most reliable FTP program is WSFTP, try it.

I can't delete everything from my website since I am getting 600 people on avg. on a website. And besides I would need an FTP client to upload the files and none of the ftp clients are working since whenever they try to connect to the webserver it always gives it an error saying "FTP error: remote machine refused the request"

I figured it out. I had my firewall turned on so my FTP client couldn't go outside. Thanks for your help anyways. I really appreciate it.

ya, firewalls a pain. i cant host games in any multiplayer games, none of my ftp things work (except Uploader! but that expired), and it cuts me off for internet access sometimes for no apparent reason.
