The DOOD just looks like a pattern, can't really even tell that its a word with out reading your name first. if your gonna have glows in the background, your text should have glows as well. I would try and make holes in the letters.

type and graphic background doesn't work well together, they are saperate now. My suggestion, I would take off the fill shape of the text or dig a hole for the text or leave the out line stroke, then blend the the text into the background with very glow effect like you did with the line stroke background. Take off the background, and work on your logo type. That you can see better with type and it is not distracting with other design elements. Then add bg back again when the type is solid.

Chuck the glow fx altogether. Put a white round dot in the mid of the D's and use a vector bg. Done.

theres alot of different styles going on, and they seem to clash. The dood text is all vector and simple, which isnt bad on its own. The 90's glowing light streaks distract from the text. I dont really think that the clouds and stars work with the other two elements either. If youre set on the ribbons, I would do them in vector, but it would be tricky and would need to be placed somewhere else. Theres nothing wrong with keeping things simple, especially when it comes to typeography.
