i am very confused; don't know if i'm posting in the right forum!! :nerd: feel free to push me around. does anyone here know how to take screen captures of mpeg files? like the kind you play on windows media player (if you're a PC nut like me)... i tried pressing "print screen" but all i get is a dark window of nothing.

 please?

If you are on XP than you can take it into Windows Movie Maker and take screen caps from there. :)

ive searched and searched and searched and still no luck. It's got something to do with your graphic cards not going into RAM but directly playing to screen..

check these forums and troll for an answer (DVD screencap problem is the same as divX or mpg) www.Doom9.org

In many cases, I found using a DVD Player such as PowerDVD has a built-in feature for taking screencaps from a DVD or MPEG file. Thor may know more about this though.

Download Jet Audio, play ur mpeg or dat files in it and it has an option to capture a screen shot or use this capturing utility, works for me.I pause it and then use it or release the mouse click at a point i want the screen catured (u ll understand when u use this utility)

this isn't the best way to do it, but it works as long as you don't need a very big picture...

okay...i think this will work on windows 98. you just have to make sure you have "View as Webpage" selected on your folder view thingy (so the little preview screen to the left is there when you select an icon)...oh heck, this is too confusing...here's a screenshot of what i mean
