Now then peeps

i would add a bit more line spacing on the text. it looks crowded.

Cheers for the feedback.

I've tried to just squeeze everything so it fits on 1024x768 screen resolution. I might have to have a little reshuffle so i can get more space for the typography.

It's nice though those descriptions like "'Sustained Records promotional MySpace Music profile" are really blurry, at least for me. I have a Samsung SyncMaster 913N 19" TFT screen. Maybe it's just me. The overall look is a little too white for my taste, but overall it's good. :)

hi cheers for the feedback. I think those descriptions you are talking about have anti aliasing for animation, not readability. I think if I chose the latter it would make it less blurry, but I thought it looked a little jagged.

I suppose I could maybe try toning down the main white centred rectangle, but I just wanted it to look quite clearn/clear. Perhaps if I keep the background wallpaper white it might be a good combination. I will have a go at making these changes over the next few days.

Any one else got any feedback? I think i have a few typos on the descriptions that I need to correct.:hat:

*edit i've changed the antialias on the text for readability. I think because I havent used a pixel font its not the easiest to read.. but i do like the font... :geek:

cool, i have always found it loads everything pretty quick. All the images are optimized in photoshop at around 70-80% so it never has to load a massive amount at any one time.

I have been (and still am) very busy with a series of projects, so just made that webiste in about a week since I wanted a version of my site up and running that at least briefly tells people what all my projects are about. As when i finished my mates website, it links to mine so i wanted it to be more interesting. Eventually I want to do something instead of opening the projects in a new tab.. maybe in an iframe or some other movieclip without opening a new browser window. I haven't yet figured that out and dont have the time at the moment to pimp it out as much as i would like.

not entirely sure why this is done in flash. could all be accomplished within a normal Xhtml framework, with flash introduced where required.

Like the layout, but the ~century gothic font isn't really to my tastes.

images loaded pretty quick for me though.

I've tried darkening all of the colours on the layout. >>>>LINK<<<<< (http://www.imgd.co.uk/)

@ biznuge, cheers for the feedback.. i chose to do it all in flash because i thought it would work ok, I dont see how it should matter... how a website is built is going to be irrelevant to the average person who views it. btw i dont know what you mean century gothic... i haven't used that on the site.

I've built all flash sites before, and would never go back. You'll have to work real, incredibly hard to get any kind of rankings for this bird to fly.

I don't see how choice of technology to us is irrelevant. surely, you should look at what is needed in a site, and then select an appropriate technology to build in. NOT the other way round.

To reiterate, this COULD have and WOULD have been better in, a normal XHTML framework, instaed of as a flash site with 15 meta words in the title.

Fair enough.. to be honest I would give it a go with a main xhtml framework but i dont think I know the css good enough to get it work in the same way...

it's easy, once you've got your head round NOT using tables or letting dreamweaver provide any code for you, and You'll benefit from being able to produce SEO friendly pages far more than you would providing static designs produced in flash. suck it and see I say.

Good Luck. :book:

I agree with biznuge. I'm not a Flash hater, but when you have a basic/standard layout and no animation, there's really no benefit, and a lot of drawbacks, to using Flash. XHTML/CSS/JS is the clear choice in this case, in my opinion.

It looks good, though

I guess I will be making a html version some time soon then.

I've now added my test showreel.. i got a couple of other bits to add. But its a fairly accurate version of what the final one will look like. Motion graphics isn't exactly my main area so everything if fairly experimental / self taught.
