So I just installed Crimson skies and when I try to start it, I get this "Crimson Skies Executable has encountered a problem and needs to shutdown blah blah" error, wtf is up with that? Its an old game but I hope someone has an answer to my Q's.

I assume your pc meets the system requirements. See if the game has a recommended video resolution, and try turning the res on your desktop down.

If your on vista run the exe as administrator.

All else fails reinstall.

Yeah I'm sure my PC meets the system requirements, I'll try playing with that evil 800 x 600....

EDIT/ Nope still nothing. I just don't get it, Its probably the no-cd crack I'm using but still this is ridiculous I've tried at least 10 different cracks all still with the same result.

Meh most other no-CD cracks I use work just fine I get them all from the same place. I'm not sure why this one would screw up. If your not going to post something that could help don't post at all.

you could always try popping the cd in and seeing if the no-cd crack is actually causing the problem?

what's compatibility mode? I've been looking for support everywhere, thank god i found this. Not even the demo worked, which was downloaded from the Microsoft website. They have nothing about this problem as well. Seriously WTF is going on?

This does mean you probably downloaded the game...there's no reason to burn a new disk unless its scratched beyond repair...which isn't true most likely.

But anyway, it could be just ONE of those few games/old programs that don't work on Vista if running it in compatibility mode fails...
