View Full Version : Are you UK guys reading about this stuff (BT & Phorm)?

Any of you UK guys use BT? If so you should really be paying attention to the stuff happening with BT and Phorm.

All of your internet use may be monitored, stored and then used to target advertising back to you. Even if you opt-out it's not clear whether or not this will stop them from collecting all of your usage data.

I used to have BT Broadband, I'm glad I don't anymore tho! It's an absolute nightmare to cancel aswell...pain in the *****.

Comcast and Verizon do that crap here in the states. Pisses me off, the fascists. Down with Big Brother!

I don't think anything like this has happened yet with Comcast or Verizon. I know Comcast does annoying things like send fake reset packets to kill bittorrent uploads.

This is actually sending ALL of your browsing history to an advertising company's servers (which are apparently located in China). Rather scary (and Orwellian). Still hasn't made it into any mainstream news yet though. There won't be any real uproar until it does.
