Looking for computer games, console games and the likes of it. Board games feel a bit different.

I'm not asking you to list the most spectacular games, or the most solid ones. I just want to hear the games you personally had most fun with. A list of 3.

I'll go with these 3 games that certainly amused me a for a looong time:

* Monkey Island 2
* Gears of War
* Day of the tentacle

Gahhh soo hard to choose only 3!!!

I can't say they are my top 3 as there more that are just as good, but here is a selection of a few of the games I had the most fun with:

* Jedi Knight - Force powers? Lightsabers? Defeating fools online??? Awesome!
* Super Mario 64 - I was amazed and impressed the first time I saw this game. I played that game FOREVER.
* Zelda: A link to the past - Another game I played forever. I even enjoyed playing it again when it came out for the GBA.

This list still doesn't seem adequate!

Everyone is choosing series...those cheaters:D

My favorites would have to be(God this is hard)

1. Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence
2. I'll cheat too and say the Call of Duty series because Call of Duty:Finest Hour was the first game I played online and because I'm still playing the hell out of CoD 4:Modern Warfare.
3. Twisted Metal 4, a great PS relic thats still really fun (just played it with my friend yesterday.)

Zelda: The Wind Waker

The atmosphere and themes of the story really resonated with me. The story of an idealistic fisherman trying to restore an ancient monarchy was strongly supported by the vastness of the sea and sparsity of human civilization. The protagonist's motives and drives seemed deeply sensible, and amazingly reflected the way that I was starting to look at the game world as it progressed.

Link's eventual decision to sacrifice his society's legacy in favor of the growing plutocracy underlied a single unifying theme: that people should not try to embellish or worship the past, but should rather realize and appreciate the exciting and amazing world that they themselves are building today.

Super Mario 64

A lot of creativity, unique and inspiring thoughts. The sheer variety and oddness of the world's designed really gave the story a sense of scope. Places like "Wet Dry World" did a good job of skirting the line between reality and non-sense, with an immense city built under the pretense of a controlled water level.

Halo 1

I'm not sure about more modern games (I don't own any current gen consoles), but Halo is the only game I've played where the AI has constructively interfered with the plot. The caste system wasn't just shouted at us, it was clearly visible in their fighting styles.

Also, as a Sci-Fi fan, I think that Halo has done great things for the genre. The use of projectiles was a refreshing change, and the implementation of a hard military hierarchy seemed a lot more plausible than the Trek-style leadership we see in a lot of today's fiction.

The Pillar of Autumn also impressed me a lot. It was just a cool ship, and the clear utilitarian style in construction made a lot more sense than the "art style" design that you see on most modern sci-fi. For a ship where length is a big priority, the design made a lot of sense. Compare that to *cough* USS Enterprise *end cough*.

Warcraft 3
Halo (Both the original and Halo 3, but not Halo 2, it was a piece of dung.)
Call of Duty (They were all epic and wonderful.)

Secret Of Mana - I used to be addicted to this game! i remember me and a couple of mates would be playing on it for hours after school!

dues Ex - Just a quality game.

Pro Evolution Soccer 5 - Played this every day for about 3 years while I was at university - IMO playing head to head against a mate who's in the same room as you is a zillion times better than playing against some dude halfway across the world you've never met!

Meh, I preferred the Wind Waker, but that's just me. Ocarina was a little dark for my tastes, and I wasn't digging the plot. But some of the environment/atmosphere was nice.

:lol: HAHAHA! Sorry man, but I love Halo 2's multiplayer so much. I've not been a huge fan of the Halo 3 multiplayer as much ... even though Halo PC was nice - as soon as Halo 2 came out for PC I was really hooked on multiplayer then ... so that's why, not really for the story/game so much.

That was one of my fav. games as a kid ... so damn hard at some points - and the part with the whale where you could piss it off and make it come crashing in at the glass was awesome! Great visual effects and interesting puzzles ... but because of the frustration it put on me, I couldn't vote it top 3. ;) :thumb:

I'm very sure I'll want to change this as soon as I post it because I'm only entirely sure of one game on the list, but here goes:
1. Final Fantasy VII -- craptacular graphics, true - but easily one of the most influential games in my gaming 'career' lol. Its the reason I'd ever even consider an RPG..
2. Tekken 3 -- I was gonna put Mortal Kombat II because that's one of the reasons I got into gaming in the first place, but Tekken 3 was an awesome game that had been, at the time, a force quite impossible to reckon with, and I just refuse to have 2 fighting games on my list lol..
3. *scratches head* Hmm.. I'm seriously considering Metal Gear Solid 1 here, but it's almost so cliche that I don't want to.. I suppose it's less expected than anything GTA.. so MGS it is - an influential game and strong point in gaming history.

So I'm sure that you all can see plainly that I had a PSX at that time, and not a N64.. lol.
