Hi

I was taking a look at this new tablet pc from HP (http://www.shopping.hp.com/series/category/notebooks/tx2000z_series/3/computer_store?jumpid=in_r329_personalization/browse1/home_SDP) but was a little dispointed about the Graphic Card.
I´d love to have a tablet pc with tochscreen, but I´m a little woried about the graphic card for playing games and working with Flash and / or photoshop CS3.. i know it´s not ideal for that, but do you think that I would be able work on that?

I´m thinking on getting a 2.4ghz, 2mb ram, 250 gb, NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 6150.

What kinds of games/software i would be able to run smothly?

Thanks

I have the geForce go 6150 video card in my HP laptop. Don't count on being able to run any new games at all - forget about smoothly. I wasn't able to play rise of legends ( one of the games I thought a laptop would be able to run ). I don't think you'll have any problems with flash or photoshop but since I don't have the latest versions I'm not sure - but they can't be too different from 8 and cs. I'd say if you can live without the games the software should be fine.

I work for HP and use my tablet daily and the one you're looking at is better than mine. If you're getting it with the intention of playing games on it you're setting yourself up for disappointment, that's not what it's made for.

This is not my main goal. I know that I will not be able to play the latest games. My main goal is to work in flash and photoshop, editting high resolution files. If it works in it and the tablet works, than that´s the pc for me. the question was just for make sure that games is not an option ;)

What is your oppinion on the tablet and the processor?

You work for HP!?!!? Anyway, tablets aren't meant for heavy lifting....so don't get one if you want to be able to run Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Firefox at the same time because it'll probably die. Honestly, I think I'd just get one of those drawing pads (forget what they're called) since they're much cheaper anyway. Although, with a tablet you can bring it on the go I suppose.

^you're referring to the wacoms. they're nice if you want a pressure sensitive drawing surface for photo manip or animation... if you want the ability to draw directly on a screen rather than the detached feeling with a regular wacom then you will have to upgrade to a wacom cintique. they're really pricey but if they're as good as my 9x12 but you can see what you're drawing on then its 1000% worth it.

seems like what you want is a portable photo editing computer that you can run flash on. a standard higher end laptop (which is what most manufacturers are steering the market toward) should be fine for that. You can't expect advanced games because you're trading power and low price for compact and mobility.

also it will probably be running vista so you may want to get more memory (blah blah blah i know the whole deal on vista not really sucking all the memory and giving it back when it needs it).

in all honesty, the two programs you want run will not be taking massive amounts of memory unless you start stacking more and more progs or do a large amount of filter work / analog versions of flash effects that could be better done with AS.

It's actually not a bad price for a tablet though....
