How do you put crossdomain.xml file in place?

you upload it to the folder on the other server where the php files are located

I'm having trouble understanding how this text file should look. I see the code in this link
http://www.crossdomainxml.org/ but after trying, it didn't work.

Any more help would be appreciated.

it didn't work, I put it in the folder were the php resides but it's not working. how can I trouble shoot this?
