ok so i have three different vector shapes in photoshop, each on its own layer, how can i combine these layers and still keep them vector? or isnt this possible?

Click on a layer and press Ctrl+E or go to Layer->Merge Down! That'ss merge it with the layer under it!

but that changes it to raster, i want it to stay vector. i dont think this is possible in photoshop

cope the contents of the first layed and then just paste it into the other layer.

I recommend not using ps7 for vector. I think you are looking for like the combine tools to intersect, punch, union....and all those so you can combine 2 shapes to make one composite but still keep the paths. Dont have ps7 in front of me but I dont think it has that ability. I would use flash or freehand. Or illustrator.

here's a tip i use (not precise a 100 percent but works)

fill both of your shapes on a raster layer so you actually have you vector in bitmap..

now transform each shape into a 'custom shape'

select the combine/intersect/boolean whatever you want in the stencil menu and draw your custom shapes over the bitmap....

should work fine =) !

I thought about that. But if his picture is complex that could get pretty messy. PS is just bad for vector stuff.
